An addon domain name allows you to host a complete new website for a domain name that has nothing to do with your main domain name. To give an example, if you owned two domains - www.snapshosting.com and www.mysnapshosting.com - and you want them each to be completely different web sites, you can do it via the AddOn feature in your hosting control panel
When you create the addon it is automatically assigned a default username and that username also becomes the folder in which you would upload your new site to. For example, if we created an addon domain mysnapshosting.com and went with the default setting, it would automatically create a /mysnapshosting.com folder in your /public_html/ folder. You would upload your new site to /public_html/mysnapshosting.com and mysnapshosting.com would then become it's very own web site and appear completely independent.
